The other search engine.
Senior-led Microsoft Advertising across Bing, Copilot and Microsoft's search partners, run as an account in its own right rather than a copy of Google left to drift.
Imported, then ignored.
Many Microsoft Advertising accounts are a Google import that nobody has opened since. The auction and the audience are different, yet the bids, budgets and negative keywords are Google's, copied across and left to drift.
Run as an account in its own right, Microsoft Advertising can be a lower-cost source of the same search intent, and the account's own results show whether it is for you. That needs its own bid strategy, its own search term review, and conversion tracking through UET, Microsoft's conversion tag, with Consent Mode, which Microsoft has required for visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland since May 2025.
What a Microsoft Advertising engagement covers.
- Search campaigns built for Microsoft's auction, across Bing and Copilot
- Shopping campaigns from a Microsoft Merchant Center feed, with supplemental feeds where needed
- LinkedIn profile targeting, where available
- Performance Max on Microsoft
- AI Max for Search, where it is switched on in your account
- UET tag and Consent Mode
- Offline conversion import
- Search term and partner-site control
- Google imports kept in sync only where they help
Same operator, separate decisions.
Microsoft Advertising is run by the same senior operator as your Google account, as a separate account with its own decisions. What works on Google is the starting point; the search terms, devices and partner sites Microsoft actually serves are then bid on their own evidence.
Budget is judged on impression share lost to budget, the share of searches your ads missed because the money ran out, and on the cost of each extra conversion. Money moves to Microsoft when it buys customers at a cost you want, and away when it does not.
Run by the same Google Partner who runs your Google account, with both platforms counting conversions from the same source.
Microsoft Ads questions.
Is Microsoft Advertising worth running alongside Google?
Often, but it is measured rather than assumed. It reaches searchers on Bing and its partner sites at a different price, and the account's own results show whether those clicks become customers at a cost the business wants.
Can you just import our Google campaigns?
Importing is a sensible start and a poor finish. The import copies structure, keywords and ads, but it does not know that Microsoft's auction, partner sites and audience differ, so bids and negative keywords are then set on Microsoft's own data.
Do Microsoft ads appear in Copilot?
Yes. Microsoft serves ads in Copilot, its AI assistant, as well as in Bing results. In April 2026 it also announced its own AI Max for Search, which widens the searches a campaign can match and adapts its ad text across Bing and Copilot. If AI Max is switched on in your account, its search terms and generated text are reviewed like any other campaign's, and it is tested against the existing setup on the account's own conversion data.
What is UET consent mode?
UET is Microsoft's conversion tag, and consent mode tells it whether a visitor agreed to cookies. If you advertise to people in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, Microsoft requires it, so it is part of every setup.
One budget, every platform.
Each platform is run inside one paid media plan, held by the same senior practitioner, so budget moves to wherever a customer is won most profitably. How the paid media practice works.
Start with a conversation.
A proper conversation with the person who would do the work. Tell me what you run on Microsoft Ads today, or are thinking of starting, and you will get an honest read on what I would change, what I would leave alone, and where the real upside is.
Speak with NicThe senior read,
once a week.
Most marketing newsletters are noise on a schedule. This is not that. Once a week I send a short, considered read on the shifts that actually change what you should do, across the AI shift, PPC, technical SEO and analytics. Filtered, weighted and signed off by me before it goes out. The judgement is mine, and now you can hear every edition in my own voice.
